My landy has stopped firing my spark plugs fire and there's fuel going into the carburettor, I brought new sparks plugs which are set at the right distance the fuel is fairly old but I'm not sure what's quite wrong please help thanks Lloydiee123

Are you sure that the fuel in the carb is getting to the cylinders, I.e. do the plugs smell petroly after turning over for a while?

If they do, then the plugs may firing at the wrong time so check points and dizzy. Have you put anything new on recently or did it just stop working?

I just checked the cylinders and it does smell of petrol So what do I need to do to ensure they fire at the correct time? Thanks again

How good is the spark? Fat and blue or thin and yellow? Poor spark can be caused by points gap changing with wear, the condensor starting to fail or the coil failing.

If it failed to fire suddenly (rather than getting worse over a period of time) then try just replacing the condensers. Easy and cheap enough to do and even you end up replacing the dizzy they should be replaced anyway.

I have now fitted a new coil and the spark is good but the problem know is for reasons beyond my the fuel seems to be set a light in the carburetor instead of the cylinders?

dizzy could be loose, if its turned it will throw out the timing, could be the reason it stopped running b4..
