Hi guys I could do with your help please!!!

I've got great series doors with sliding glass on my 90 which i only recently bought. Only problem is they dont seal against the door frame round the top. You can even see them leaning out at the top!!

I've had them apart to replace all the weather strip for the sliding glass and realised that i may be missing the galvanised finishing strip that sits between the two halves. Do they all have this and is this needed to force the top of the door at more of an angle so it fits into the door frame at the top?

Any help would be great thanks
Andy

I've just fitted some new doors on me 109. Straight out of the box they don't fit just like you're describing. You need to "adjust" the tops to fit properly by bending the buggers in till they're right.

its the A/C built into 99% of series. Don't go bending the doors - you loose the precious A/C then.

Of course... you also get snowed on in winter...

heh great thanks guys i should have know i needed a hammer to make the adjustment !!! or as you say keep the ac!!!

do you also not have that metal strip along the top of the lower half? I guess its too thin to make any difference any how

many thanks
Andy

The galv trim should be there, If it isn't when you take your tops off in the summer there'll be sharp edges. It won't make very much difference to the fitting of the tops but it does prevent rain etc getting inside the door bottom,

no need fer a hammer ! just bend the door tops(when fitte to the door) by hand against your knee or something to reposition the studds

I did it at some traffic lights the other day during rush hour without thinking about it , and when I looked up I could tell that everyone behind me wished they had gappy doors so that they could look as cool as me.
