I have a 73 series 3 SWB and the dash (speedo, gauges and switches) has seen better days plus the previous owner has changed the switches for after market ones.
I have looked around and on auction sites and new ones are a fortune, switches are really expensive.
On auction sites the dash units go for about £40-£45. That's the plastic front with speedo, fuel gauge & switches.
However series 2/2A centre style dash facias go for a lot less.

My question is, how easy is it if at all to move all the wires and fit a centre Series 2 style dash into my Series 3?

a bloody lot of work mate fer a start the series 2a bulkhead has a metal shelf both upper and lower welded onto the bulkhead but the series 3 is all bolted to the bulkhead it could be possible to do this into a series 3 but would be higher up than a genuine series 2

you could however try retro fitting the series 2 pannel in place of the series 3 one ( behind the steering wheel ) saving a lot of time and effort

just be damn carefull and gentle removeing the speedo cable as theyre brittle and a twot to get at give yourself as much slack as you can from inside the engine bay before attempting disconecting the cable
