Today started well with a phone call to say the new chassis is ready, so I'm collecting it in 2 weeks.

So I thought I'd make the most of a day off work and get a bit more done.

I finished the front axle off, but then noticed I'd got the brake backplates mixed up and put them on the wrong sides, so it all had to come apart again  .But it's all done now.

Otherwise I've got the bulkhead and radiator panel off.

It's certainly much more easier dealing with the shiney new bits.

Ordered my new springs today, so I've got everything I'll need for the rolling chassis. :D

Keep you busy for a bit longer!

Is it just the photo...the nearside spring looks longer than the off side. (I'm assuming the lettering on the spring n/s & o/s relates to the fitment)

Hi - great thread. Is going to be a great project.
In the first post when you originally stripped it down what are the tyres (nearside rear) - like the tread pattern as looking for something authentic for my restoration - are they Avon's ?

It says Duramold on it, not a make I've ever heard of. It's certainly a copy of something, but I'm not sure what. Sorry

Here it is with the shine removed. I got the mordant solution on. Couple of bits need doing again where there must of been some grease or muck I missed, but I'll redo those bits tomorrow.
