hi there, first time ive posted on here just joined up,anyhow i wanted to share my idea with all those series owners who are fed up with the doors on these trucks closing on you when you open them,,,my own series 3 swb diesel spends alot of its time being used when im out with the rifle shooting and its very annoying tring to get in and out with a large rifle/scope/lamp when the damn door keeps shutting on you...simple,go to the local scrap yard and buy for around a fiver the 2 gas struts that hold up any hatchbacks boot lid, remove all the fittings including the bolts, then on your landrover take off the door stay and bolt the longer of the 2 stut bolts into the hole where the stay pin was,on the other end drill a 10mm hole into the door strengthening cross piece so you can attach the other end of the strut to the door, what you will now have is a door the will open and stay open,a will need very little effort to pull it shut...i was so pleased with the results the doors on mine even open on there own when its parked up a slope!!!!.HAPPY LANDROVERING EVERYONE

Scott -
appreciate your prob with the door closing and understand your reasoning, but I like mine shutting, and congrats for an ingenius fix.

Bunnies and/or foxes with the rifle? Not a dig, but a fellow shooter.

For those who are in the know I am a RFD by the way ....
PM me if I may be able to assist FAC holders.

A good solution. Might just try that one as my doors close rather heavily with the weight of door linings and speaker system installed in them.
