HI everyone
I have a set of lowered/cut down series 3 door top frames. They currently have no glass in them and over the last few weeks I've been attempting to get it all sorted.
I’ve recently brought a window kit which includes the following:
Window channel top front door
door top fixed glass spacer
window channel lower
window channel door top side
door top glass spacer
sliding window seal rubber
seal retaining channel
door top glass retainer
door top filler strip
self tapping screw no. 6 x 3/8
screw self tapping no. 6 x ½

As my windows have been lowered I am aware that I will have to modify the components slightly. I have also brought another 3 meters of window channel for that top area for both frames (as the original will be to short).
I’ve been told by other forums that the standard series glass is most likely to be toughened or laminated. As a result I am going to have to get all the glass cut out from scratch
(I originally thought it might be possible to just cut down the originally series glass but as its toughened/lamented this is not possible)

Now for the plead
What I’d really like to do is get hold of some standard series glass (for both sides).
I’d like to use them for a template (basically mark out there size on a piece of card). I really need the glass to be out of the frame. I feel that if I measure them inside the frame I won’t accurately get there size.
I’ve asked a few local land rover companies but it’s not an item that they hold in stock. Of course I also don’t really want to buy all 4 pieces of glass to just use as a template (especially after working out how much they cost)
Basically I just wondered if anyone had some series 3 door top glass panes outside their frames. I live in Surrey, Elstead but I am basically willing to travel anywhere within the south east.

Cheers
Tom

Mine's got the slidey bits out of the frames - I think. Certainly the drivers side is as to open the window I have to take it out. The previous owner kindly removed all the seals and the glass is held in with combinations of skirting board, self tapping screws and what looks like fish tank sealant.

That might be enough to enable you to measure them accurately though if you get stuck.

It's for sale too....!
