series 3 auto conversion?

Hello everyone.

Ive been after a series 3 for ages, and have the option of buying a lovely example fitted with a 300tdi. What are the options regarding fitting an ashcroft 300tdi auto conversion? are there any issues with space , or the selactable 4x4?

Be really interested in finding out if its possible!

If you want to stay with selectable 4wd will require mods to transfer box on back of auto box, as you wont be able to use series transfer box with auto . Other tan that you could use a stage 1 V8 front axle which is designed for full time 4wd . The auto box requires same room as defender manual in 300tdi. HTSH

you can get get kit for diff to give you 2wd high and 4wd difflock for lt230 ,if you get donor vehicle you will have most parts engine ,auto box ,t,box and mounts ,2 x prop to alter plus all control bits ,not a difficult job we used defender tunnel floor plates etc
