Hello
You have helped me before and I am hoping you can help me again.
I have bought an SU conversion kit for my Series 3 Lightweight but I am having trouble sorting out the linkage since the instruction sheets are very dark and not clear. I have to remove the bracket from the bulkhead support. Is the pivot assembly with the shortened arm then bolted back on through the top hole left by the bracket? Can anyone send me some close ups of the pivot assembly and the linkage. I would be very grateful. Thanks.
Nigel

I don't have any pictures, but seem to remember that you need to use a cable instead of the rod linkage with SU carb.

Think @Colthebrummie or @kermit_rr might have SU on a Series.

I do, yes. Made up an adapter to the manifold so it sits at about the right angle, limited by the bonnet closing then made a bracket and nobbed about with the linkages so would work with the cable

I dont have a SU carb, mine is a Zenith. I looked at the conversion once cos I do like SU's but it seemed to much of a faff and I decided keeping the old bus as original as possible was preferable to me. Any job that takes longer than an hour is too much
for my limited attention span

Apologies. For some reason, I thought you had an SU.

We just have a Solex, which was original. My philosophy is the same as yours, Minimum Effort, Maximum Dinners! :)

I had a SU on my 2a in the 80's but then got into 4x4 trials and found it did not work so well at the silly angles one gets to doing such stuff and went back to the Zenith.
