Got a series 3 with a 1982 2.5 tranny conversion, it still has the original landy air filter wedged in there, what would be the best way to go, keep the original, put a tranny pancake filter on or go for a K & N, i'd like to put a snorkel on later. does the engine run better n cooler with a K&N? How hot should they run?

you wont get a more effective air filter than that standard oil bath type as normally fitted - and it's easy to connect to a raised air intake

if it was a LR engine i could tell you it's normal running temp - but seeing as you've got a manky old ford in it i cant
