So could I also keep the existing hangers and have a slightly smaller tyre or would you suggest changing the hangers anyway? Presumably I'd need spacers either way?

Used to be very popular with triallers as they gave masses of offset so allowed the lock stops to be adjusted to give tight turns. All this without using spacers.

Thanks for the advice.. probably highly unlikely that anyone has any kicking about but if so let me know..! ;)

without the hangers stick to 750x16 or the metric equivalent

Getting a bit confused with these rim sizes and trye sizes, I ain't the brightest!

So rims are 6.5 X 16, the tyre sizes i could possibly put on are 750x16 or 900x16 so what are they in metric? Tried converting these sizes but thought i was missing a bit of info..!

Ta for your help.

Aren't 750's the same as modern 205's?

205R16 (the original Range Rover size tyre) is the radial equivalent to the 6.50x16 fitted to 88" Land Rovers, and so later to standard 90s when they all went radial. Just to confuse things OneTens had 7.50R16 as commercial radials retained imperial measurements!

I think gone off the idea of these now, I found a thing on reversing the centre on wolf rims, near enough the same thing I know but at least I could go tubeless... what do you think?

Just need to find someone to do them, then worry about the insurance company after!

I know its an old thread. Heres my 109 with 569203 rims from a late S3 Fire Unit. 7.50 x 16 tyres. Standard shackles. 569203 You'll find them on some military stuff too, Not fitted to early one ton, those got 569204. Less offset.

And pix that have been put up before on what to look for.

My VERY early IIA 1-ton (chassis number 13, 8th vehicle completed) has 569203 rims.:D They are actually off a slightly later vehicle though as they were DBG under the inner tubes. I think there was no hard rules about which vehicles got which rims, I know of very original series 3 1-Tons with the 569204, and then IIAs with the 203s...and then we have the FCs to consider...gets very complicated.

When I bought my 2A back in October I noticed it had an odd wheel which was wider than the others. After a bit of research I found out it was the famous 569203 wheel:

I whacked it on eBay and someone gave me 200 quid for it! I had no idea they were THAT sought after!

FYI it was fitted with a 7.50x16 tyre and worked fine even with odd wheels. God knows how one of these wheels by itself ended up on my 2A...
