If you want the series 2a crashbox with out the synchromesh then joining the series 2 club forum / club might help. Bear in mind however what ever you buy will already have had a life and might not be as "good" as first suggested...

dont scrap your old box,it can be rebuilt for someone else if not yourself

thanks for the info lads ,I think she knew she was going up for sale and decided to let me down so I don't want to pour too much money in but not to give the new owner when I find one a **** sandwich either

Oh that looks very posh - even got the wider Military wheels I see - shame about the door hinges but hey ho you can't have it all!

its not that posh it runs an isuzu 2.8td engine with a GKN overdrive it gets a move on but the inside is a bit tatty and was looking for £5k with 11 months mot

Morning col
No it’s a series 2a 1968 but some time in its life it’s had a body swap, series three bulk head also , if it was an original 2a station wagon it would be worth a lot more than £5k imho
Regards
John

Looking at your pic, I would say it's worth more than 5k. It looks a lot nicer than mine. Interiors aren't too difficult or expensive to refurb. If I had the room and more understanding wife, I'd buy it to keep my lwb station wagon company.

col,
yes a valid point thank you but like all 50 year old cars there's always something else that wants fixing right now its the gear box ,fuel gauge and the temperature gauge and at £5k I would be happy and the new buyer would hopefully also feel that they have got a deal ,also its not an original station wagon so how do you price that I have classic American cars also and if its not to the build sheet it knocks pounds off .

I know what you mean regarding originality but with old landrovers, people love the look but often want a better or more useable engine so are happy with a good alternative power plant. I hope you manage to sort the gearbox. I live in a state of constant anxiety about mine.

yes I know what you mean i.e will It get me home !! ,one of the reasons I'm selling it is my wife needs power steering as she is now suffering joint pain in her fingers so I will be going dare I say it Japanese ,if I get silly offers ill end up keeping it .

I'd quite like to do the Corsa power steering mod on mine, it's a bit of a struggle parking it sometimes and I'm not getting any stronger. The trouble is I'm too lazy to contemplate doing the mod.

Those wheels could be worth £1k - do some searches. You may get timewasters who are after those. I would put it on std wheels and sell those separately. and you never know, the std wheels may make the steering lighter.

Lads , thanks for the heads up on the wheels which I was aware of their rarerety as it took me a while to find them , it’s a good point splitting it out but I will have to find and buy more wheels so more cash out which I don’t want to and I’m always busy . I won’t be putting the gkn overdrive back on so that will be up for sale soon
Cheers
