Sender unit

I paid 80 quid for mine. They are a big unit unlike the 200 tdi. Have you cheked your unit to see what is wrong? If you take the unit out theres a wire, it's a bare copper type, easy to spot, this come away and causes the sender to work when it feels like it or to give up completely. It can be soldered easily enough. Worth a look if you haven't already done so.

the problem is not the fuel level its the actual top of the sender which has split around the fuel pipe causing it to draw air. i have tried to seal it with silicone but it hasnt worked or at least i am hoping that this is my problem as i have replaced the leak off pipes and tested the lift pump and all seem ok.

craddocks mate, brought one yesterday £63 with vat and the female union connections and olives, but you will probably need at least the male part of the union and maybe the fuel flow and return pipes from sender unit to the lift pump.
Have a look on fleabay aswell
