Self service but keep FSH

Hi
My FL has Full Service History but I am more than capable of servicing it myself (I used to work as a mechanic).
How can I do the due service (12k at 60k) but keep the FSH... what do you do?
And before you suggest it, no I don't know anyone who will stamp my book.

Buy yourself a stamp either off ebay or the like, but it's totally dishonest. Why not just write in the mileage & date of each service & keep a log of everything you've done along with receipts & use quality parts & oil, it'll be worthwhile. Another option is to do all the major servicing yourself but get a local garage to do an oil change for you & stamp your book.

yea, I did think about the ebay option.. heh heh....
It's the basic stuff like oil and filter changes I will be doing.

I always fill in the book, with my name, and date it, staple the receipts for the bits bought to the the page.

never had a comeback yet with any cars I've owned.

that's about as much as you can do and be totally honest with no deception.

OR

you can buy a stamp, or make something up, which is slightly less honest.

I go with writing down the mileage and what was done ect anyone's got a problem with that, then they shouldn't own a LR anyways

As already said fill the book in yourself and keep all the invoices for the parts used, ide rather see that than a dodgy stamp from a fictitious garage that you can't contact to confirm any work that has been carried out

Yea, I recon signing, dating the book myself and keep the paper work is better than a dodgy stamp.
Any recommendations on where to buy the filters from or brands to avoid?

what would you prefer to see stamp or ?.who knows if those with a stamp have been serviced or not,even at a garage,i see plenty that havent been

Same here and never been a problem - even when trading in because they only ever ask if the car has a 'full service history' rather than 'full dealer service history'

I always keep a record, with receipts, of all the parts I buy and the date and mileage fitted, add to this the dates I carry out any servicing and this usually satisfies any potential buyer whether a dealer or private purchase.

Avoid Britpart like the plague. For the few people on here who "recommend" them there are many more like myself who don't. I try to go for reasonable branded names & a few I've fitted are Mintex pads, Lucas Discs, Lockheed Delphi droplinks, Quinton Hazell brake shoes & I used FAI wishbones which I was nervous about as I hadn't heard of them before. When I researched them they seemed to be regarded ok & I've had them fitted for 2 years now with no problems. I try to use Landrover oe oil filter along with fully synthetic oil. Some sellers on ebay sell good kit but a lot don't so you need to ask what brand they're selling & believe it or not Amazon Marketplace can turn up some surprising results - it's where I got my brake shoes from at a reasonable cost.

britpart is a wholesaler not a manufacturer they sell oe and genuine too, mostly cheaper than others so unless you go to main dealer its likely to have come from them anyhow,fitting cheap pattern parts from any wholesaler is accompanied by risk,and with only using synthetic and lr filters you have no idea if it is actually any better than any other ,as it happens i dont use alot of pattern stuff ,but do use britpart brake discs amongst others and after fitting a considerable amount over 25 years never had a problem ,even on my own automatic after 3-4 years, saying avoid britpart like the plague is like saying avoid tescos cos they sell cheap beans when they also sell a range of beans

my wifes freelander went in for a full service and came back home I had marked everything and only the oil got done so i would rather have a written service sheet than a stamped one
