Im getting an intermittent message of "Select Neutral".

Most of the time the car starts and drives ok,but on most occasions the message FUSE 4 FAILED appears with the accompanying beep as soon as the ignition is turned on and sometimes whist driving.....

Sometimes after a "Short Stop" I restart the car to see this message displayed "Select Neutral".

Although the car will starts & drives ok, it does feel different, the Auto transmission not being as smooth as normal.

The message/fault can be cleared by turning the ignition off and on several times until the message is gone. It seems to me to be an electrical issue, and not one that is connected to a perfectly good Fuse 4......does anyone have any ideas or advice?

Thanks in advance

:)

"select neutral" is only normally displayed if you try to select low range when the vehicle is in gear. it sounds to me like you have a transfer box electrical fault which in some way is affecting the gearchange (gearbox ecu). What fuse 4 does, i dont know, i'll have to check but just because it says that, doesn't meant the fuse is blown but could be a dirty or loose connection to the fuse.

You need to find out what fuse 4 does and then check out the wiring for that circuit, chances are, the 2 faults are connected
