We have 3 under 5s and my wife was leaning into the our new LR SPORT HSE to strap one of our children into to rear offside when I sat in the car and started it. She had the fob in her pocket and wasn,t in the car, we both were concerned so she shut the door and asked me to drive away and to our horror the car drove. If I was a thief I could of drove off with the 3 kids leaving my wife at the roadside. We contacted our dealer and LR HQ and to be honest they don,t seem to be taking our concerns seriously but I,m not dropping it.

most keyless cars will drive away, until they are out of range of the fob, did you keep driving to see if it stopped after a certain distance?

well our old Mondeo Titx didn't - a remember Doris putting it off the drive, off we went (with both sets of keys in our pockets) for the day only to find it sat on the drive STILL running many many hours later

"We have 3 under 5s and my wife " laughing at that bit already, dont know what i expected after clicking on a link saying LR sports - get a Vogue and stop people thinking 'here comes a tw@t"

though with dads Vogue, twice the price and still get a discovery fob.

Does it on my renault too, can leave the car running whilst going into somewhere , if i go too far or it goes out of range it dies.

shouldnt leave a car open and unattended, your not insured.

what years is the mondeo sean, was it pet or diesel.i got one as well but nothing like that has happened, yet.

i never did try wandering up the road while it was running just to see if it would stop
i dont know bout this but i do know in the event of the car being driven off while you have the fob you just have to lock the car with the fob and evrything shuts down and immobilised for 15 mins with or without the keys

atleast thats how it worked on me chrysler neon a few years ago it shut the car down and set the alarm wailing i dont think the site twot ever tried that again :D:D:D
