Security ideas ?

Yeah I know about the molegrips as a steering wheel thing as I've used it on my track car to steer it on the drive etc if I've left the wheel in the house. But its still a deterrent and I'll be buying one anyway as I'm putting a my spare bucket seat, harness and wheel in the disco, which makes getting in and out a bit of a pain with the wheel still in place

ok i have a carport added on front of garage to try and stopthem lifting my car i have raceing style kill switch on both cars i have 2 hi powered lights in roof of car port so cant be seen till the step under carport and a small cam set up touch wood worked so far. had my bottle of wheel cleaner stolen the other week i went and played back cctv found the young lad that did it he got v ery worryed when i walked up his drive and spoke to his dad lol on plus got a new bottle and a sorry card of the boy the same day lol

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it (not going to read through 11 pages) but you can get a key operated one way valve which you can fit in the clutch line. Little buggers push the clutch in and they're stuck with no drive. I think this is a good idea. You could in theory fit it to the brake line and lock the brakes on also but this isn't actually legal in the uk incase it causes an accident. You can fit it to the clutch line though.

Under the same circumstances you would be better using a murphy vavle and interupting the diesel feed.

Rather than getting going and not being able to stop... they don't get going in the first place.

Murphy valve is electrical though

I actually have about twenty of the little buggers out in the shed. I used tio hook them into the tracking system once upon time. They were very effective, both in bringing the vehicle to a halt and in stopping the vehicle from starting in the first place, however there is one state that annoys me and that is that they only allow diesel flow while power is applied.

We all know that when we crank the engine over all power disappears from acillary systems so wiring the buggers in safely was a bit of a mission.

Extremely durable, and never failed to work once I had figured out that little wiring faux pas

Does anybody know if the Diskloks manufactured for left hand drive cars will fit a right hand drive landrover ?

I know it sounds obvious but the only difference I can see is the bar is to the other side - would that stop it being fitted or used ?

Should work just make it abit awkward to get the handle on and off

Think should be OK - if the horizontal bar is so long that it interferes with the side window, should be able to rotate disklock either 90 or 180 degrees

As Sam comments - may just make a little more fiddly to ft on

Thanks for the replies - am going to give it a go. Amazon are selling brand new large (lefthand) Diskloks on their US site for £26 which is a significant saving over the UK price. Luckily I go over there fairly often for work so have ordered one to bring back.

I was given some airhorns which are going under the dash and being wired up (switched) to the ignition live, so it'll be one deaf scumbag who walks away from my vehicle.

no one on this fred has come up with a single security solution that exceeds thetracking/security/isolation possibilities of a decent hub solution...

WHY are so many people willing to spend xyz,0000 on their vehicles... and then skimp on a couple of hundred quods worth of security? especially when it is technologically advanced?

If you spend £1000 on yur landy.. why the **** would you not spend £200 on security...
