Hi:
I bought a 10mm diameter and 1.20cm long wire to install a second ground wire. Does it make sense to install a second negative cable in FL1 Td4? Which has benefits? Where does it connect?
Thank you.

My view is, if all ground connections are clean and tight and engine earth is good then there is no benefit.
True on the FL1.
Others may be able to see the point in such a modification??
The FL2 needs an extra earth cable to the starter, as the starter draws more power than the old standard cable can carry. The extra earth cable also helps the FL2 alternator, which has a 180 Amp output on some models, mine included.

The additional cable was added in manufacturing on the FL2 not long after they started making them. Lr realised it helped which is how we know it's betterer to have it fitted. So we do if its missing.
