Hi Everyone

Just got my second Discovery and I'm hoping that this one doesn't get stolen like the first. I owned it for 26 hours, 24 minutes and 22 seconds but at least I got a picture of the thief driving it away from the CCTV system in the car park. That one was a V8 but the replacement is diesel. Feels a bit agricultural by comparison, but seeing as my other car is a Jaguar XJ40 that's not surprising. I'm looking forward to getting to know the beast on an intimate basis, that is hands-on with the toolkit to bring it up to spec. Other vehicular interests include working as a member of pit crew for a Motorcycle Endurance Racing Team, doing six hour races at several tracks around the Uk each year. The Disco is going to be great hauling tools, generator, compressor and caravan around to the race tracks.

No, it was a different dealer. I just spent many hours trawling the Internet until I found one at the right price with the right mileage. Found one that had spent it's first life as a shopping trolley and schoolrun motor, then had a few years just doing fishing trips at weekends. The dealer gave me contact details for both previous owners so I took the chance to check up on a few important details such as when the timing belt was changed and confirming the swivel pin upgrade to grease instead of oil was done by a LR registered dealer. So I got one that has averaged only 6500 miles per year and had been properly maintained. Also invested in my own Denver Boot for parking in questionable public places. Also recently invested in a Japanese Akita Inu so the Disco is guarded at home by some very large and sharp teeth. Please tell me I'm not paranoid! Had a good crawl round underneath and I'm very happy with everything down there. Just need to oil change everything and replace all the hydraulic fluids to give me a known starting point. Only thing that doesn't work is the ciggie lighter, not that I need it for smokes but it would be damn useful for the SatNav. Fuse 6 is OK so I shall have to get technical with the voltmeter and check out the wiring.
