seat slide snapped

hi all,
just pushed my passenger seat back and the rear lug that secures the seat to the seat box snapped.
been looking on the net for the part but it looks like you have to buy the complete base unit . Does anybody know if you can just replace the slide alone , as the whole base works out quite expensive and if I got it welded might stop it sliding freely .
any ideas

Make a replacement lug and weld it to the bottom of the slider. It won't stop the seat sliding. Not like they're a finely tuned bit of kit made to exacting tolerances, is it?
