seat covers

Hi peeps, does anyone know if its possible to take the covers off a set of nappa seats and fit them to the cushions in my car which are the 5 bar type? would the fit or is it not worth the struggle

I want to know the same but from 3 bar to 5 bar. I have set of 3 bar full electric and 5 bar non electric. Want the 5 bar on the 3 bar frames. I would say it's just a straight swap albeit a pain to do. Can't see the foam cushion being different.

hmm, it was the foams i was wondering about. if the foams have the bars in them as well.

The crap drawings on rave show them to be the same. The 3 or 5 panels look like one panel from the inside by the look of it, just different stitching on the outside.

A look on ebay at the heated seat element shows no bars in the foam

Stripping the skins off and refitting is not difficult, the hog rings are a bit of a ballache though. Had one of mine off to re-stitch it after a aide airbag blew.

Cant you just re-fit with small tie wraps?

Tie wraps aren't as strong as people think thay are

You could but I'm sure they will not last long with all the flexing

what are the hog rings?

Hog rings are little metal rings that hold the cover in place, and can be a pain to get off, and even more of a pain to get back on. Ive used thickish cable ties twice now on my seat bases and theyve been fine. Much easier than re doing all the rings

thought so. its a job to tackle when the weather improves. was planning to sell the other seats in time for xmas but never got around to getting them finished.

Anyone know were I can get some covers? Just front seats
Or if anyone got the complete fronts for sale in gray

Here are some pics of the 5 panel seats I stripped today. Cut the hog rings with side cutters its much easier. These are the back of the front seats, the bottom part just comes away with the foam attached so they'er easy.

Will do Yes wood trim. Seats bases have uprated thermostats to make them hotter.

Ahh that alot darker than mine if I were to go down that line id be after the rears and dash parts too

Ive got the rears but not the dash bits. No worries
