I need to fit new belts to my 109 Series 3. The belts currently fitted don’t appear to be fitted correctly. The inertia reals are just bolted to the seat box. I have silver brackets behind the front doors as in the picture. Are the belts meant to be attached to these?

I’ll also be looking to use it over summer with the hardtop removed. I gather I’ll need seat belt bars for this. Are there any that can be used with a hardtop so I don’t need to keep fitting and removing them?

That does look all wrong. There should be a shoulder bracket to the rear of the door pillar, and on the 109 the reel fixes to a bracket on the tub fixing (those 2 bolts + the tub fixing stud) and or on a bracket onto the top of the bulkhead, you will find a threaded hole 7/16 UNF. The centre reel can go on the front of the bulkhead near the bottom, there's a bracket that fixes down to the floor and there's a reinforcing channel underneath
