P38A Seat base is annoying me.

Barstool thing rocks back and forth when accelerating and braking.

Anyone elses do it?

Weirdly it's only does it when set for my frame. IE all the way back with the seat base as low as poss at the back.

The PO was a smaller chap and in his position it's solid! Can't drive the car though!

Any suggestions, any way to tighten the rails up?

Hammer?

Sounds almost as if the floor-pan is flexing when the fully-back position increases the leverage of the seat?

Mine does it too, there is a thread on here somewhere, I didn't try the fix (I had too many other things to fix....)

My BMW 325 did that from new

If that floor structure is flexing, the floor must be about rusted out, it's massive.

If it's not loose mounting bolts, then it's likely to be the runners are loose.

From what I gather it is a fairly common thing (not just with the RR)
From memory I think one fix was by pinching the rail a bit as it is wear from the top and bottom tracks and the drive-screw. On my old rangie I tightened the rails and put a washer on the drive screw which made it a bit better, I will probably get to do this one at some point, but at the moment everything is now working so I don't wanna rock the boat.
