Hi guys

i have the chance of buying a s111 lwb for peanuts that has been layed up for years it has been badly vandalised the chassis and bulkhead rotten as a pear all body work damaged all windows smashed and just woundered if i was to buy it break it down ally body removed and all steel removed from ally body, bulkhead and front panel stripped, glass lights seats and tyres to the tip, gearbox stripped, chassis cut down, springs and shocks removed, engine and axles i would say will be classed as mixed metals, any ideas.

I think the owner should be paying you to break it up, certainly wouldn't pay any money for it. The owner might get £100 for it at the breakers yard though from what you say there's very little worth paying for, and the owner could end up having to pay the breaker to collect it. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Nigel.

That's not the one on a derelict brickyard is it?

One option, find the vandals house and explain that you find it unfair they vandalised a price of their rich heritage and you think it would be reasonable if they paid for a no expenses spared restoration

Dont know where you are but i just scapped a small transit £220 mondeo £175 and a completely stripped fiesta £140 happy days :D :D :D and they picked them up from my workshop.

bro in law recently got about £150 for a 1 litre saxo with no wheels (he scrapped them separately for another £50 ;) ) so depending on what you pay there may be money in it but not a lot

yeh this one will be a guinepig as it is just up the road from me and the scrap dealer is only up the road from me aswell although in a 10 mile radius i have 5 scrap metal dealers at my disposal so could find out who pays the best money first.
