Now ask bobb is on tip duty

Stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the carb today then set about putting some windscreen wipers on the old lad
50 year old grease has turned to wax


Half a can of brake cleaner and an old toothbrush later

All back together with some new grease




And bobbs got wipers

Have you seen the price of them wiper motors?? You should buy the scrap ones & rebuild

Yeah I've been tempted a couple of times, most things on an early series are 100 quid plus. Hinges, heater, wiper motors, wings and dash. I keep an eye on Ebay fairly regularly

Just bought a truck cab back for 50 quid for its window locks and seatbelt brackets

After some advice I'll be taking the other wolfs off tomorrow for painting


Tyres will be getting purchased anorl

Seems very strange to have 205's on

Painting the backs today

Shall do the fronts tomorrow in limestone
Tyres ordered should hopefully come on Wednesday but I'm still on enforced isolation til Friday so I can get 'em fitted til then anyway
I want a day in the hills soon

Hopefully that's the last bit of painting for a while...

Four of these, more aggressive than I really wanted but BF Goodrich all terrains were about 200 quid more and I couldn't justify that. They'll probably perish before they get worn out.

In some ways I would have liked to use the original wheels but I'd be limited on tyre size. Again branded tyres in 750 size were coming out at 600 quid plus inner tubes so resto mod is the way to go at the mo I'm afraid. As you'll find out, if you're not careful the costs can run away
They should look pretty nice though. I'm on lockdown til Friday so fitting will have to wait.
