Hi all,

This is my first time on this site and i am looking for some advice.
We have Discovery TD5 Yr2001.

When accelerating up hill or to overtake, i am finding that the engine seems to be struggling for power, by this i mean that it sounds like it is surging or trying to get fuel but cannot.........

Is this a problem with the Fuel Filter / Fuel Pump?? and are they easy to change yourself??

Cheers
Gary

saying hello back and welcome to forum sounds like fuel problem filters are easy enough to do, when you remove the old filter make sure the sealing rings come out with it, when replacing fill the new filter with diesel first then replace it other wise the system will have to be bled

Thanks brnocz.

I will change the fuel filter first and see if that improves things. great tip about putting diesel in the filter before replacing.

Welcome to Landyzone Jonsey.

Like Buckshot says it sounds like turbo wastegate sticking causing overboost that results in the engine going into a limp mode setting.

Lets start with the cheap bits first just to be sure. Has it had new fuel and air filters recently?
