Hi,
My 2004 Becker SAT NAV has packed in. It stalls after 'the route is being calculated', the screen shows the words...'calc route'....and it stays this way.
The radio and cd's work fine.

Any ideas....ive reset the system (1,3 +tp) and cleaned the disc but still no nav.

Mike

I have a 2002 HSE and just had the same problem. Check your lat & long screen to see if its working. Mine was locked up on a certain lat & long and then I disconnected the battery and then it read all zeros or something like that. Anyway, I solved the problem by buying and installing a new GPS base that goes on top of the vehicle. It's the base that your am/fm antenna screws into. I ordered it online for a about $83.00 or so best I remember. I hope this helps you.

Update.

Ive taken my system out and re-made all the connections but still no nav....everything else works fine.
My display shows that my long/lat does not change and it hasn't located a single satelite, displays "0".

I'm thinking the GPS antenna has packed in....anyone any experience in replacing this part and recommendations for a supplier.

Mike

I ordered my GPS base from www.lrseries.com The part number is XUC000030. First unscrew your am/fm antenna from the GPS base. You get to the GPS base through dome light. Just take the cover off and then remove a few screws. It is quite easy to replace.

many thanks,

I've just ordered mine direct from my local Land Rover dealership, £38 inc VAT....Ill post in afew days with the results.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with my Becker Sat Nav, my info display shows that my long/lat doesn't change and it hasn't located any satellites, it just displays "0".
Was just wondering if replacing the GPS base fixed the problem?

Hi all,

I replaced the satnav aeriel GPS base and the whip ( this sheered off when I tried to unscrew it).....het presto my navigation now works fine. GPS base unit failure is quite common i'm informed by landrover parts dept.

tip. My main dealer prices were cheaper than all the online quotes !!!

kind regards Mike

My son's Becker packed up, we remade all the connections but no joy. Two weeks later it started working again on it's own accord and is still fine nearly a year later. Sorry I cannot remember details but don't rush to replace it, we nearly did.

Our satnav problems completely disappeared after fitting a new battery. We wasted time checking connections etc. The unit needs a good steady power supply.
