most modern cars have one wiring loom to save time and money and only have the chosen accessories attatched at factory and other plugs just tucked away if not needed.

makes sense really, so does the p38 have all the wiring tucked away for the sat nav units and displays if i want to fit it into my rover?

its the only thing she lacks, everything else is there lol

Yo are better off using an aftermarket unit. I have the factory Sat Nav in my Vogue and it's almost useless today. I cannot find an updated MAP disc for it and it's not touch screen and doesn't accept postcodes.

That would depend on the year and model!

Buy a radio with a slide out GPS/Sat Nav screen, or any cheap Android tablet does the job with Google Maps. I rarely use SatNav, but I had a long run (325 Km) to do on twisty back roads here in France and Google Maps worked perfectly complete with spoken instructions. The tablet has the advantage that you can set up the route indoors rather than sitting in the car downloading the required map via WiFi so that no mobile data connection is needed. If you do have mobile data enabled, you also get traffic info. The in car OEM SatNavs are next to useless here in France as new roads appear so often.

I have the factory sat navigation in mine, my mother's P38 doesn't but has the wiring loom points for it.

The sat navigation isn't the best. MartyUK kindly updated my 2010 disc when he did my heater matrix.

I find it accurate however the offroad function doesn't use roads
