We've just imported our LR3 from Dubai to NL and have just been told by the local LR dealer that we can't just swap the Middle East disc for a Europe one because of the region settings. To make it worse they told us the only solution is to spend 2000k euros to replace the DVD player!!!

There has to be a way around this - does anyone know if there's a way to make the player multi-region? Or is there any other cheaper way around the problem?

Can you buy the Europe disc from a dealers in Dubai? If you could chances are it'd be supplied as the correct region for your LR3 then!

Or I'm sure there is some way of resetting the region code on the dvd player! Do a :search: as they say Google is your friend! :D

Your DVD player has the functionality to be multi-region, but it has been software set for a particular region at date of manufacture. These devices are sometimes hackable, but it requires a lot of advanced skills, assuming no one has posted a how-to already for you. Search the internet for days and you may find some help.
The other solution is to take your DVD's and copy them to blanks, but in the process remove the region encoding on the DVD. This requires something like AnyDVD software.

Sorry to bump this one up, but I've gone and done the same thing - imported my LR3, bought a European disc only to find it doesn't work. Anyone able to help with either unlocking the DVD or creating a readable file from the OEM nav disc?
