James, on a serious note this time

And this refers more to the previous thread on which "I was getting on your tits" it is simply me pointing out that a thread that already has umpteen versions does not need to be started again and again. He may have thought that he was doing us a favour but if he had looked halfway down the page there was the exact same one time deux right there, another in the general chat section, one more in series and a couple more scattered around in the same sections although I fail to put my finger on it.

I for one respect your technical knowledge as you are more or less a living haynes manual which is brilliant at times but I believe in letting those who do not know use the search engine as almost all the answers are out there.
That statement refers to wheel sizes and the like, now if its something a bit more complex like the wiring of a light set up then by all means continue to put forth your knowledge.

Its not a need to make them feel inferior by putting a downer on the threads and telling them to search but for a straight forward problem its more or less a given that the answer is a couple of pages away.




By no means do I feel that you are giving bad information but I must side with fanatic on the opinion that you do try a bit too hard to be recognised here, there is no need for 24/7 facts and stats. I'm sure that we would all appreciate it if you backed down a little, again not because of bad advice but rather to allow yourself to relax and give out some banter as well instead of pure factoids.
As fanny has said this forum is about the banter not just the facts and in my opinion you should attempt to indulge evenly in both sides rather than staying in the factual area.




Now I too am bailing, so I bid you adieu as I have started to ramble sue to tiredness and a lack of sleep.

gentlemen What we have here is a failure to communicate. Sarcasm is a form of flattery,and respect. Some people have a large sense of humor and are quite colorful with it. And it can get under someones skin, even though it was not met that way.

On the other hand some people have a dry sense of humor. it is just the opposite side of the same coin.

Both of you are a great asset to LZ. Fanny with his wit,humor and sarcasm,and his computer skills. James you are a walking archive of knowledge of Land rovers,and a large resource. People look up to you for help, guidance, and encouragement, so they can fulfill there dream. When the people on here have a problem, they would just about they hope you will answer there question. I know I have and I have PM you with questions and advice and i value the advice you have given me.

Now I do believe there was not a attack on anyone today or any other day. Was there sarcasm yes but in a respectful way.

So gentlemen you both have different personalities as nite is to day lite, but both are needed to complete the day. This indifference might of been taken wrong,but it wasn't intended that way.

So this is my view, if is out of line than I am sorry. But I would hate to see either of you fine men leave LZ and both of you please keep up with your wonderful in put to this wonderful LR site

Ok warden the Santana saw one for sale the other day also and a good price. But the only question was , what about repair parts and availability do you need to get parts for spain or are the uk brand inter changeable?

know the Santana 300tdi are a better made motor than the Uk one and turner engineering uses Santana heads in there new exchange and high performance heads ( better alloy than the Uk counter part)

So maybe contact Land Rover and see what they say. So far have not seen the Santana mentioned here

mr evil ,i dont try hard to be recognisned here i do what i want to ,part of my gripe is that people keep trying to hang a label on me , i dont try and talk like a tratter boy even though i grew up on a small farm and trained as an agricultural engineer i dont even comment unless it seems to sycophantic ,itry to be respectful and leave others to their own space like wammers and datatek mr shifty and others but banter here appears to be banter from one side and an issue from me, before jumping to conclusions about me read your own threads
