if its the one i am thinking it is its the same as the 'Rock' branded one i have in my garage, doesn't seem too bad for the money i paid (~£200) there is a company that does stuff at billing landrover show who carry them but i can't remember the name of the company

Samson are just a generic name for the cheap chinese winches that seem to be flooding Ebay at the moment.

put this on mine

sealed it and moved the solonoid into the cab and it has never let me down. very powerfull too. (pulled my 110 out from half burried in thick mud many a time)
