saint , ive been looking with interest at your radiator replacement thread as mine as seen better days and i intend to replace it as a preventative measure. with a view to your excellent fan removal tool i was wondering if the welded on nuts are a nessesity? will it still not work with just holes drilled directly into the flat bar?

The pulley is dished and as such a flat bar may not engage enough on the bolt heads...I tried on mine without the welded nuts on...then went to the car park at work and tried it, but wouldn't engage, so I went back to the workshop and got on of the guys to weld some nuts on then drill out to the right size, went back to the car park and it fitted a charm.

You will only really need a pair of nuts on one side of the bar, as with them on both sides, I could only just get the 32mm spanner on the viscous nut...so I ground the other two off....

The two I ground off would be on the opposite side to the ones on the drawing.....
