I was recently browsing the VOSA website and I came across the safety recall section http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp. I done a search on Land Rovers and there was quite a few listed for the discovery, one of which covered my chassis number range. I duly contacted my local Land Rover dealer who confirmed that there was two outstanding for my car, both of which related to the ABS system.
The upshot of this is my car has now been into the dealership for this work to be carried out, part of this safety recall they replaced the ABS ECU unit and carried out some modifications to the sensor wiring and upgraded the ABS software as well, for which there was no charge at all.
Prior to this when I was driving my car, 1999 D2, the brake sometimes felt momentarily that they we sticking on very slightly. The other problem I had was if I left the car for a few days the battery discharged as the ABS was drawing power, so hopefully this has rectified this problem as well, fingers crossed
