Hi guys, have searched and haven't answered my q?

I am tryin to do front diff oil, g'box oil and t'box oil, and fit diff guard - not to challenging so far, only problem I have is my drive, which is the only place I can work, other than tesco's car park, is on a slope front higher up down towards the back.

What would be the safest way to lift the car so it is level, would ramps be ok, if so are 2t ramps ok, for 300tdi??? Have thought about cutting sleepers to suit etc

also because handbrake is on the propshaft, what would need chocks?

Any help appreciated or its to the garage, and i aint got the dough for that at the moment......

its not ideal working on a slope but where you can drive up on to some thing i have some 9"x6"x12" lumps of wood (about sleeper size) i can drive up onto too help work under my disco if you have to jack up a wheel make sure you put it in difflock(and make sure its engaged) leave it in gear and chock the whees always try and lower it back down onto some thing axle stands (or my lumps of wood)

chock which ever wheels are down slope and jack under axle near radius arms till level
may have read it wrong, but it dont seem to make sense.
if your chocking your down slope wheels, surely your gonna lift it off the chocks once you start to level it with the jack?

Got to admit I think I read that the same as you.

2 tonne ramps will be fine as long as they are in good condition.

If in doubt belts and braces, so chocks, handbrake and put into difflock and engage gears.

For future reference though any work requiring wheel removal, find somewhere flatter use axle stands, chocks, handbrake and put in difflock.
