Safari Roof for 90 truck cab?

I suppose as a safari roof is bascially a second skin with an air gap, it wouldn't be too hard to knock one up out of a spare roof and something to create the gap, e.g. rubber door stops?, then rivnut the roof to fix it all down. Question is why would you want to?

I would think that it would keep the truck lots cooler in the summer?

Thanks.
I suspect that given that most of the surface area of a truck cab is actually the sides rather than the roof it may not have a hugely noticable effect, unless you use it with a screen blind when stationary, or it would probably have been offered as an option for sunnier clims. Some 70's esque louves on the rear windows would probably help too.

Why dont you take the truck cab off and put a bikini top on???

Well, all this I will decide after the truck gets here and I spend the summer in it. The original thought was to pull the roof off and use a bikini top and just use the truck for weekends and holidays. Now I am thinking of using it as a daily driver. However a bikini top or a hot vehicle will be horrible during the summer rains so I am also considering an aftermarket A/C.

Just checking out all the options so I can decide after I spend some time in it.

BTW, the wife and I have already booked a holiday for a week in June on the island of Eleuthera (Bahamas). Its about a 6 hour freight boat ride from Nassau. We will be carrying the 90 to do some exploring and beaching.

Good point!

Thanks.
