Rusty bar/tube under radiator....

Hi!

I finally got myself properly under my Discovery yesterday in preparation for fixing an oil leak from the rear prop shaft seal on the transfer box.

Whilst I was under there I had a nose around and found this:

The picture shows a tube/bar that is seriously rusted. The bar lies under the radiator and just above the bottom part of the bumper.

Can anyone give some details as to what it is (!!), how serious it is and what I need to do to fix it?

thats the front valance i think.

the idea is to give the steering some protection when off roading (and mines in the same condition)

Its the "factory protection bar", Would not worry about it tbh, infact mines been taken off as it just gets in the bloody way and once its rusted the screws that are supposed to hold the bottom of the bumper dont do didly anymore anyway.

if you fit a steering guard, take it off and bin it !! you dont need it tbh
