Hi All,
My name is Gavin and I've recently bought my first Landy. A 1999 Disco 2 TD5 with just under 118000 on the clock.

Can anybody point me in the right direction on a couple of points?

1. Any photos of the Ace line layout in the engine bay? Some idiot has canabalised some pipes, I need to rerun but space is tight.

2. Any recommeded rust proofing companies? So much conflicting info. It's a minefield out there.

Thanks all.

Oh sh*t

Do it yourself mate, use dinitrol or bilthamber. Get it steamcleaned inside and out then mechanically prepare with wire brushes and heavy sandpaper. Rust converter, some use it some don't then either just paint exterior and use cavity wax inside or use wax in box section and on external surface. If using paint or wax on external use quality stuff. Dinitrol, bilthamber, buzzweld, rustoleum all have good write ups. There's loads of info on diy, imo it's the only way to truly know it's been done properly. Wait till summer so you can get it nice and clean and dry before you apply anything. There's a good vid on YouTube by 'funrover' I think using dinitrol

@blue beasty move to discovery section?

Jumped in while I was typing my essay @dieseldog69 :D

Gavin if the mods move this to disco section, just pop a quick hello in on introduce yourself ;)

:D

It is a very comprehensive subject is the discussion of rust proofing a Discovery, best kept brief until it is in the right place.

But good work there, surprised you haven't got it saved as a template LOL ;)
