Can anyone recommend where to go to get my 110 rust proofed in Cambridgeshire? It's well overdue. I don't really have the space, equipment or finesse to do it myself as i really want a thorough job done first time round.

I've searched and seen various comments on Nene Overland, both positive and negative. They seem rather expensive but do have a professional set-up.

Also within range are RJ Landrovers, Bishops 4x4 and Wicken 4x4 who don't list doing it on there websites but I will ask if they will do it.

Cheers, I stumbled on the dinitrol website and I've contacted PB Customs for a price. Ive also asked my local Landrover Facebook group if anyone can recommend them before I bite the bullet

Not heard back from them, I filled in the online form with my email address. I will put more effort in next week and give them a call.

Heard back today, £595 and takes 2 days for my 110. I've asked if this includes injecting bulkhead and doors but from what I've read Dinitrol is more expensive but also regarded as a better product. Apparently Waxoil is wax and oil based so it will always creep and drip wheras Dinitrol is wax and solvent based, and when the solvent dries out the wax stays put but has enough creep to self-heal. Dinitrol apparently also has a rust inhibitor.

I might be wrong but I think the waxoil/Dinitrol has to be checked every 12 months to 2 years and topped up if needed ??

have a look at Buzzweld UK and possibly speak to the owner Craig Jones, he has lots of knowledge, advise, help and support and a lot of good products, there are also service centers around the UK.

hope it helps

Interesting thanks. Should probably get mine done properly at some point.

He spent two days cleaning mine, and after drying put two full coats of Dinitrol on and in every crevice it has.

Not the cheapest but I didn't want the cheapest job, I wanted it done properly. He was also the only one who didn't have any negative reviews.

I have since discovered some rusty bits on mine, a rust crater behind each rear wheel on the underside of the cross member. Also the bottom of my roll hoop is getting brittle. I'm looking at an epic drive up to Scotland to see a mate who can do the treatment, welding and probably some of my other refurbishment jobs.

Its all minor at the moment so I want to get it nipped in the bud now before it gets worse. It seemed a nice thin shiney outer layer of steel with crusty steel underneath. The rest feels solid

Just checked the Buzzweld site, nothing within 50 miles.
PB Customs or Nene Overland it is.

My local Land Rover lndys both charge £125+VAT to Waxoyl a Defender

They've done my 90 and my 110. The job was pretty good for the money, but they didn't clean off the mud from crevices first (such as in front of the rear wheels on my 110) so l had to do that myself, and they didn't do inside the bulkhead either.
So l bought some rust proofer in cans and did the bulkhead/inside the chassis using the long extension tube that came with them.
l guess you get what you pay for. If the job is as good as they say it is, then it might be worth £1,000 if you have a premium Defender such as a late model TDCi or a mint TD5, where it may increase the value of the vehicle over time.
