hello,
the disco has started running not quite right, louder and a bit of a loss in power. there is vibration but not the sort that rattles and bangs things if you know what i mean- tingly feeling in your legs when you get out. recently started running on veg mix but i dont think thats anything to do with it, had a few new stuff on over the past few week-timing belt etc... (the squeak thread) hope its nothing major as im loosing heart with the old girl just lately.
any ideas, cheers:)

could the veggie cause these problems then? thought it was smiles all the way with that stuff

peeps on here will know better but i think it being cold weather and not keeping to a set veg/diesel ratio may have something to do with it in my case. since i started regulating proper 50/50 then no problem. just a case of checking every few hundred miles. only takes 10 mins to strip the bowl off to check.

i will change the filter and check the sedimenter tomorrow but i dont think its that- hope im wrong, cant afford anything else to go **** shaped!!

Where along the fuel supply system is this sedimenter? Might need to flush mine I suppose. Only know of the main fuel filter at the rear and the small funnel filter at the fuel pressure regulator. Sorry for hijacking your tread.

it's on the chassis rail near the diesel tank, looks just like an old lister fuel filter assy if that helps, should be a water drain sticking out underneath(not seen one that hasn't been snapped off yet though), just as easy to undo the cartridge and clean it though

What vehicle/engine/year are you referring to? I've heard that TD5's have a fuel filter at the rear, but Tdi 200/300 have a sedimentor at the rear inside the chassis rails about where the rear wheel is. Their fuel filters are in the engine bay.

oil and filter changed, diffs topped up (didnt do the gearbox because i didnt have the oil) fuel filter changed and sedimenter emptied.
there is slight(very slight) play in one of the uj's but no different to last time i checked and i know that rumble when it comes and goes anyway.
still not running right, thought it was the drive train (raz's jinx!) but it still has the vibration when its revved stood still. like i say not a shake things to bits vibration but it definitely has one.

any thoughts people????
