Help!!!! I've got a couple of annoying problems on my 2.0Dl 99 Freelander and I'm running out of ideas. Firstly, I have a permanent door not shut light accompanied by a mislock (horn sounding) when I lock it (all doors and locks appear to lock ok). Secondly, when I open the tailgate the glass does not drop before opening, could these two possibly be connected?

Otherwise its a good workhorse

Cheers

Well you have certainly got problems somewhere, the alarm and mislock sound is due to the car believing a panel is open there are no panel switches apart from the bonnet there is a self test mode for your ccu but bit hard to explain, easiest way is open all doors not bonnet and and push screwdriver in the door latch so the car thinks the doors are shut then try each door in turn when you open each door your interior light should come on try each door in turn until you find which door is mislocking dont forget the bonnet.it could be your rear door causing the problems will the back window drop using the plip on unlock or using the interior button?does your rear wash wipe work and does the wiper park correctlyon the door?have you any other electrcal faults like no rear fog light or anything else have a think and get back to me should be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Thanks for that Tigapiglet I was wondering what to do this Easter! Anyway I can lower the rear window externally using the key fob and internally using the switch. Windscreen wiper and washer works as advertised! If I open the rear door then physically push the window down a couple of inches and close the door again..........the window raises correctly!

As regards the central locking, I know where the bonnet lock switch is and that has not come out of its mounting and appears ok.

I tell ya.................its got me beat!!!!!
