you need a 1 or 3 micron filter to get it proper filtered, an its not as easy as filter and in it goes, need to add caustic soda and white spirtit then seperate the glycerol that is dangerous stuff, its a bit of messin but cheap. i just go to tesco 88p a litre veg oil an use that saves me a bit an i dont have to mess filterin it.

Matt Harvey.....

The problem with pure-clean cooking oil is it's just as expensive as diesel!
A litre of cookin oil here in Leeds is the same price as the diesel....we know...cos we went shoppping to buy some but when we saw the price we didn't bother.....in fact, the cooking oil was DEARER than the sodding diesel!

Has the veg oil gone up again ? Can't find any for 88p a litre in my Tesco.Cheapest is Bookers Ktc oil 20 ltrs ( with the dreaded e900 ant foaming agent} £17.99 .Works out 89p a litre

Be careful i seem to remember that you have to add a chemical to the old chip oil to make it useable.

Veg oil is fine without all this bio diesel lark just adjust the diesel content to suit the weather. If you want to you can spend a lot on oversized fuel lines and pre heaters and switched systems but just blending it for earlier engines is fine , in my experience (2.0l Hippo 170K miles).
