Right then, Aswell as my series 2 i have a 1990 rangie classic 3.9 as my hack (saves me loverly series gerrin' scratched:mad:), Out fishing this afternoon and was going through a river....untill it stopped going forwards:doh:, (was in "low", going a steady pace. about knee hight in water, also walked across first just to be sure) reversed out no probs, but wont select 123 or D, not a dickie bird:confused:. Anything simple or is it a buggerd box? it has a whisker short of 300thou Km's. Had to get a tow home by a mate.....being towed by a suzuki!:eek::eek:. Thanks!:)

Its the same both in high and low, i was in 'low' when the car stopped, there was no crunching or grinding, just stopped moving and the engine revs increased, yes it snaps into reverse, parks still locks the tranny. Had to tow it home in neutral, with the engine running, so i dont ruin the transmission:rolleyes:, mainly for the brakes and power steering. the wading plug isnt there, in fact the whole cover plate fer the underside of the bell housing is missing. I know what your thinking, but if the torque converter was buggerd, how come i still get reverse?

Started to take the engine out, going to replace the camshaft and timing chain whilst thats out, then drop the tranny out, so far nothing is seized (fingers crossed). Any one want pics?:)
