I’ve fitted new parts to get the central locking working on my RRC tailgate. However, I am missing the spring that attached to the metal rod. I’ve been unable to get it anywhere.

Currently when I lock the car, the solenoid attempts to lock the tailgate but fails. When I unlock, it then locks the tailgate. Is the missing spring causing this or is the solenoid faulty?

I cannot remember but when I was clearing the garage I found a Classic tailgate solenoid if that's the problem.spooky. ;)

Try re adjusting the actuator slightly, just a few millimetre. also it seem the actuator is out of sync with the other four, if so, move move the actuator manually to synchronise.

Thanks. I tried adjusting it in various positions and it didn’t seem to make any difference. I’ll check again to see if it’s directly out of sequence or just randomly working.
