AS many here know I have had a write off a year for 4 years now so mu insurance aint cheap , but thats only to be expected . Ive been with NFU (like the rest of the farming family) for years now as there is a local ofice to go talk to not a bored chav in a call centre .

I just got me a 1986 RRC V8 perol EFI that has a lot of bits on that will cost a lot to replace . Stainless exhuast , new EP9 winch , split charge , batteries , a bar , lights all new uprated suspension OEM from LR etc etc .

However , they are telling me that they will only value the vehicle at the Glasses price or stated price , whichever is lower ,....Glasses obviously . That or get an "Agreed Value" from a local specialist (not a problem for me to get) but that their underwriters will be unlikely to give me a policy on these terms .

I dont use the vehicle for work , I am disabled and live on bodmin moor . I often have to winch myself up the lane to get me or a family member to hospital as ambulances cant get to us . Also , the winch means I can go caravanning at rallies again without help .

Seeing as I am in dispute over my ES premium 1998 that was lovely with loads of extras that they will only pay out £3k on even though its not replaceable , demonstrated many times , and which had ALL the contents stolen by their handling agents when I insisted that the vehicle be taken to my own secure yard , on the way to the pound (it wasnt).....I am a little wearied about not being paid out on all these upgrades and extras that I ALWAYS declare to them from the very start .

Four times now I have had this , being paid out bottom book money for a top rate motor , being told , look , theres a D1 in Orkney for 1100 quid !

How does this Agreed value thing work ? For someone with zero no claims ?

Go elsewhere , you may say...tried that , call centre chavs once you get past the promised "personal attention" at front desk .

Does anyone have any constructive advice or experience here . Of course humour is appreciated but some a LITTLE above some of the poor quality stuff we have been getting of late would be nice...

thanks for your times guys and gals

do you have lots of recent photos? Ombudsman?

I don't know too much about these things, but hopefully someone will be along in a wee while.
