Hi all, I'm coming round to the idea of getting rid of my Disco 2 for a RR Vogue 2002 to early 2006 (cheap tax) and yes I know the repair cost will probably make the tax saving seem insignificant :)
My question is what are the differences between the model years 2002 to 2006, I assume the Sat nav is one.

If any of you knowledgable chaps or chapesses could educate an RR virgin I would be most greatfull.

Just because its got Vogue on the back doesnt mean its got all the toys depends what it was ordered with, but in general sat nav, multi cd changer, heated seats front and rear (leather, electric in front), heated steering wheel ( I like that bit) sun roof and maybe privacy glass in the rear, you would need to check it out to know to be sure

I might be wrong, because the original post, is a tad mixed up, BUT,I think he was asking, what is the difference between the models of those years. Rather than what do you get on a vehicle with the Vogue trim. For example touch screen satnav on Mk2 L322
@backinblack Here's the easy answer
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Range_Rover

Other websites provide similar info , in the same easy to use packaging, just need to decide which one you want to use.

@kds From what I have read the stuff you mention is standard on the Vogue and is pretty much what I am looking for, especially the heated stearing wheel.
@gold rover yes that's what I mean, I have seen various screen shots of the head units display and one showed the 4x4 drive train. I have done some googling but can't find and data sheets that say what changed.
From the link you sent I guess there is just the MK1 or MK2 to choose from.

My 2000 MY Vogue has no Sat-Nav and only front seats are heated. It really all depends what the punter ordered and paid for originally.
VED is less than my 89YO MIL's 1400cc Corsa Automatic. :D
I would echo what @Datatek has said, the more toys, the more to go wrong in a depressingly expensive way. Basic & Solid is all I am looking for. Toys are for the boys. ;)

The Carin II sat nav system is also out of date by around 8yrs! :D

There are some obvious changes between, what I call mk1 and mk2, ( there is also a mk 3) The interior changes can be seen on any photo of 2002 -2005 model and a 2006 - model. The link I gave you tells you about engines, gearboxes, electrics as well as exterior changes.
As I said there are other sites out there who have all the data, images, information on equipment changes, etc, nicely packaged up. If you really want to know the vehicle, do some research, find the things you want to know. It's all out there, it even has pictures.
As those above said, a trim name, does not mean each vehicle with that name will or will not have an item. That's a search by search job.
Just as an aside, I'm sure you meant a RR L322 Vogue ;)

Maybe Ant, @Saint.V8 , wants to spend time writing out all the differences? Although he does have two young kids to run after, as well as everything else. However, he does love the brand and has encyclopaedic knowldege

Unfortunately my private plate means I have to go 51 plate or later and I still like the heated stearing wheel :)
Buy another plate. The modern style are dirt cheap. Costs me more in changing my plate, when I change vehicle, than some of the modern ones cost to buy! I call my plate the gift that keeps on costing :D
Not all L322s have a heated steering wheel, just like they don't all have the same toys, even if the same trim, oops hang on alredy said that in other post, as have others. My bad.

I would list most of the specs etc, but as @gold rover says I have two kids that need to go bed soon.....

Vogue is but a name, it was used as a top of the range standard model (with the Autobiography etc being more exclusive and bespoke), but was also available to be added as an option to an HSE model.....now hows this for a muddying situation....?!?

We have a 2002 4.4 V8 badged from the factory as a Vogue. it has the Satnav system as fitted to the Vogue, has the heated steering wheel as fitted to the Vogue, the DSP Sound System as fitted to the Vogue, she has the Tri-Zone climate control as fitted to the Vogue, has the Xenon Headlights liek the Vogue....but she doesn't have the 14 way adjustable seats like the Vogue, doesn't have a sunroof like the Vogue, doesn't have heated rear seats like the Vogue and the registration document indicates it as an HSE.....

So don't be fooled by the badge on the back, it is just a name in essence and you could find one badged as an HSE but have EVERYTHING the Vogue has, or you can have one badged as a Vogue and be missing some of the Vogue options (like ours).......go for the one which has the things you want, and not just because of the badge on the back!

Sometimes, Ant, your posts make me wish there was a multi-like button thumbs-up-sign_1f44d.png

@Saint.V8 Kids and a V8, sounds expensive, at least my kids are grown up now so my time is my own (wife permitting). I take everyones point about different options, some people add and some take them away but out of the dozens of Vogues I have looked at on Autotrader they have all had heated seats front and rear, they have all had heated stearing wheels, Harmon Kardon stereo etc. I suspect I would be lucky to find a HSE that has had the options that I want added. I think I need to do a lot more research and go and look at a few. Or get a RR Sport HSE and a pair of gloves for the cold stearing wheel.:) there I go again quoting model variants, silly me.

Why would you shop for burgers, when you're looking for porterhouse steak?

Addit: the sport is classed as a 'baby' Range Rover. Do you want the baby or the Full Fat?

Just realksed you are a Disco owner. That explains the hankering for a Sport. Therefore the question is, are you looking to upgrade to a Range Rover, or do you want to stay in the Disco but with a different badge?

Currently two V8's, a 110 and a baby Bimmer......

Hence why I am broke and having to sell the 110 and the P38....!!

Anyhow, 90% of the Vogues out there are indeed fully specc'd Vogues.....but my point is don't be fixated on the badge.
