Guys (and girls)

I posted this on the Series board to get some initial feedback. However, the time has come for me to post here. All advice gratefully received:

I'm in need of some advice. I was after a second Landy to replace the standard eurobox and complement the Series. I was thinking 90/110. However, my good lady has her heart set on a RR classic or P38. Now here's the rub; I owned a P38 a couple of years ago and got bitten quite badly - gas springs, front and rear and then the valve block went. Living in the middle east only original parts were available = kin expensive.

So before I go and ask the RR guys, they'll all tell me to sell the series and buy two, what do the owners of real Landies think? Is a RR Classic a viable option for daily use by my wife and by me when I fancy a bit of comfort at the weekend. How much do you think I should be looking at if such a beast exists, given that I'll have a budget of up to 6k.

Advice from those who understand landies greatly appreciated.

Oh and will my Series blow up in a fit of jelousy the moment another Landy arrives?

With your budget you should be able to acquire a nicely sorted classic, which in my opinion is the best of both worlds, comfort and something to throw around in the mud. my wife calls ours (we've got 3, gluttons for punishment!) off road arm-chairs. I know what you mean about the P38 but most of these have probably had their problems sorted by now, converted to springs etc. But personally I wouldn't have one. Looks too much like a "Metrocab"
Your current Landy will not protest if you continue to give it the tender loving care it deserves. They seem to love being tinkered with on a regular basis!

Have to agree the price looks reasonable, but I've not heard of them before. Seems that they deal mostly in Jap stuff. If I was buying from a dealer I would be more inclined to use a 4X4 specialist.

Ive heard of them, cant say good or bad but they deal in IMPORTED stuff. They do a lot of imported RR's and Discos and their prices have always been keen.

Does anyone know if there is any difference in the spec of Japanese Landys? For example - do they apply rustproofing, are the engines the same spec, are there any issues with type approval? Should I start another thread?

start another thread ashoo, i know nothing about jap landy's apart from they are exported from the uk in the first place. as for your original thread i personally(and its only my opinion, of which i am entitled to) think the classic rr is a tad dated now. i would deffo go for a p38 if i was having a rangey ;)
