i read that it is possible to remove timing cover without removing sump or head..im at that point now..i have removed all bolts from front .reason.... engine revving at 1500 rpm and everyone seems to agree that timing chain wrongly timed or maybe jumped somehow ..i bought it this way ...i cant see where to add pics...i have one small thread sticking out which obviously will stop removal and i was going to remove stud two nut style..i have removed sump bolts across timing cover base..question do i need to remove anything else..also do i need to undo /remove very big nut in front of fip on front side of timing cover...i have not removed or undone the fip and hoped to leave in situ..i made my self a large C spanner hold crank pully in place while i undid crank shaft bolt very tight but eventually it succumed...i can read book but help would be appreciated anyone local to me dy6 would be very welcome...or it will be soldier on..i stand here with my rubber hammer awaiting any help...also when i put how to remove timing cover in forums it says no results ..i entered range rover diesel ..am i missing something ....
