Hi folks. I have a RR P38A 4.0 SE 1996, automatic transmision fittet with LPG. I have a problem with RPM. When i start the car at the morning he start normal for 2 second and then he turnet off. When i start the second time the rpm have many shake untill they go in normal rpm. I Have more problems when the car go in LPG because this shake of rpm are all the time. In petrol no. Some time because of low rpm when the gearbox is in D, the car shut down and i have to tturn it on again. I have changed the IVAC, i cleaned the throttle, and all air intake, i have changed even the MAF sensor and TPS to. But the problem is the same :(. Where is the problem??? I dont know what i have to check. Can someone to help me with this problem>??

Sounds like the fuel trims are out due to a poorly setup lpg system. re set the adaptions and run it on petrol for a good 100 and then get the lpg tuned.

Yes i understand. If they could understand what the computer say..... :p because i send him to Land Rover Service checkked with the computer for this problem but nothing.

They have TestBook 4 pr 5 im not sure, but they have a diagnostic tool. The say to me there is no problem that computer show. The only error was O2 sensor that can be caused from LPG system.

Fuel trims will not show an error code themselves....but they can cause other errors to be displayed i.e. O2 sensor issues or misfires etc.

The course of action would be to reset the fuel trims so they are back to a baseline, clear the O2 sensor fault, drive it for a while and see if the O2 sensor fault returns - if it does, it is either a badly adjusted LPG system, induction air issues (MAF or Filter clogged), or you do indeed have a duff O2 sensor....

Running on LPG for prolonged periods can upset the ECU Fuel Trims as LPG and Petrol have different burn and waste characteristics which can put the fuelling information (trims) out of wack....

Reset Fuel Trims - Reset O2 Fault - Drive - Re-read Faults.
