Hi all, my uncle's helping me to repair my series 3 109, we just went to replace front d/side outrigger, the bottom of the door pillar just came away in my uncle's hand ( tube is rusted away 5 inches up ), ordered a new 1, but unlike the p/side we don't have any of the outrigger or door pillar to ensure alignment, any advice, measurements, hints or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, but trying to get it close to right as I can, didn't know if people had done the job & have some advice or measurements ?

If you look up the s3 full manual it has complete measurements of the chassis in it which should guide you if need be

A transfer of measurement from points on the other side can help. Land Rover themselves did not make every vehicle the same, washers were often used between outrigger and bulkhead foot to set correct distance.
The only real set point is where the tub fits on the back crossmember.

Thanks for the information, it's my first Landy so other's experience & knowledge is a real help.
Was hoping to get it ready for the Peterborough show but time's run out, oh well, always Billing show next year :(
