Hi all, had to replace all outriggers on my 109.
On the outrigger with two rectangle locating plates for the tub, there's a U shaped bracket (about 4 inches long ) underneath secured with a bolt & rubber washer, there was only one on the passenger side ( driver's side outrigger had rotted away ).
I've looked thru Haynes repair & resto manuals, paddocks & google, no sign of the bracket.

Should there be one on the drivers side, & does any body know the name / part number of the bracket.

Any help or info appreciated

Try here pal...Home - YRM Metal Solutions (yrmit.co.uk)

Not knowing the S3 but I will take a guess:D.
That is a range rover classic exhaust bracket. If that other broken strap is an exhaust hanger then a PO could have just fitted what he had or did it have a modified exhaust on it at some point.

My '80 109 does have anything like that on the outriggers if it helps...I also put on the outrigger with two rectangle locating plates for the tub a few years back and had no issues. So as above, think you can safely ignore

Thanks all, spent hours looking thru google trying to find an answer, should have just come on here.
yep, had a Customised ( Bodged with scaffold pole + other bits ) exhaust. Finding plenty more bodges the deeper I dig. Can anyone recommend a good garage near Spalding for Landy's ?

^^ this!

you can buy the complete exhaust hanger kits that are correct for a series fairly cheaply, I bought one a few years ago for mine. Similarly the correct series exhaust sections are not expensive, and other than being a messy job full of swearing at rusted bolts replacing the exhaust laying on your back under the car is not difficult. if the outriggers have already been replaced I would certainly be trying to do the rest of the work yourself.

Yep, we've had to replace all the outriggers & rear crossmember, a lot of welding & swearing,.
Gonna get full exhaust from paddocks, cheaper & easier than replacing in parts, brake & suspension kits make things easier as well.

Get the full hanger kit as well and you will have no issues replacing the whole thing.
