Roofrack question

I fancy a decent roofrack on my disco2 TD5 mainly to carry camping gear (the dogs get the boot area)

Will the rack from a Disco 1 fit?, does anybody do an off the shelf full length rack that doesn't cost the earth?
Those who have one, how much effect on mpg does it have leaving it fitted?

The brownchurch one I've got fitted a D2, a D1 and SWB series/defender (don't know about series 1 though���&#56860 but it has adjustment on the base plates where the legs are fitted. Mine is the 91/NL/D on this page

I have a roof rack on mine, its adjustable width-ways - I think the D2 is slightly wider in the roof... Or it might be narrower... I don't remember, something to do with the seat configuration in the boot.

Didn't notice a difference on fuel consumption, although you do get a fair bit of wind noise from it.

Got mine on eBay for £160.
